Cherish McNamara
Service Officer - Air Force

 
Comrade Cherish McNamara served as a pilot in the USAF for 10 yrs, before moving to Australia with her husband.  Cherish is originally from Cleveland Ohio, and then attended Wright State University in Dayton, Oh.  Cherish has lived in Australia since 2009 and in Perth, WA since 2011.

Cherish is currently employed as an Independent Consultant for Rodan + Fields.  She is also an aviation (pilot studies) lecturer at South Metro TAFE at Jandakot airport.

Cherish was commissioned in Jun 2007 as a 2Lt in the USAF.  She then went to (JSUPT ) Joint Undergraduate Pilot Training at Vance AFB, OK where she graduated in class 99-09.  She permanent change of station to Yokota AB, Japan in 1999 to fly the C-9A Nightingale. From there, she permanent change of station to Pope AFB and was a C-130E pilot.  This assignment brought many deployments to the middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  In 2005, she was stationed to RAF (Royal Air Force)  Base Lyneham, UK.  She was the USAF Exchange officer/pilot and flew C-130Ks.

In 2007, Cherish was honourably discharged from the USAF.  She remained in the UK at the time, and then married her husband in 2008. Her husband, Clarke was a C-130J pilot in the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force). Together they moved to Sydney in 2009 as he was posted to RAAF Base Richmond. In 2011 they moved to Perth, WA where Clarke is originally from and they have 2 young children.
