 Chaplain Jim Wills, originally from Texas, enlisted in the US Navy in 1985 and served aboard the U.S.S Ranger (CV-61). While on Westpac in 1987 the U.S.S Ranger and associated battle groups and air groups were involved in Operation Nimble Archer, a sub-operation of Operation Earnest Will. It was on Westpac in 1989 that Jim met his future wife while on liberty in Perth. 

 

After his honourable discharge in 1989, Jim moved to Perth, Western Australia where he married Trish. They have one beautiful daughter.  Jim has worked in a number of fields over the past 30 years including trades, hospitality and retail. He has an interest in music; playing guitar, bass and saxophone as well as designing and building hand-wired tube guitar amplifiers.  Jim is also a member of Armadale Freemasons Lodge as well as the Australian Returned Services League (RSL).
