Join us in comradeship and esprit de corps with a refreshments after the meeting! If you are unable to attend in person, please join us via video conference. Buddy Poppies

In support of Memorial Day and Remembrance Day, members of Post 12163 are looking to distributing Buddy Poppies in partnership with the RSL. The VFW Buddy Poppy program provides compensation through donations to the Veterans who assemble the poppies, provides financial assistance in maintaining state and national Veterans' rehabilitation and service programs, and partially supports the VFW National Home For Children.

Veteran Outreach

Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!! If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.

Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Commander Joe Ritacca

Thanksgiving is coming up on the 28th and we need to remember to give thanks for all that we have and keep supporting each other.

The holiday season is beginning with the community celebrating Bohdi Day, Christmas, Hanukkah and New Years, among others. The start of Summer holidays here in Australia when many of us travel, so remember to stay safe in whatever we are doing.

Our differences are what make us unique and we need to be proud of who we are and what we have accomplished throughout our lives. We need to respect each other.

We should always have each other's backs.

 


Announcements

Join us for a Sunday picnic and end of year meeting

Sunday, 8 December 2024.  We will have a picnic at the Navy League and HMS Perth Memorial from 11:00 am followed by our Post meeting at 12 pm.

The following month it will be on Sunday, 19 January 2025. Pancakes breakfast from 9:30 to 11:30, followed by the Post meeting.

VFW Post 12163 is proudly supporting the fundraising effort to purchase a memorial brass plaque for the currently unmarked grave of William Henry Belpitt, awarded the US Medal of Honor in 1884. William's great granddaughter, who lives in Fremantle, along with the U.S. Medal of Honor Society is arranging this memorial for the Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney. Please support this cause.

Adopt a Unit Program

We are proud of our Adopt a Units.  Marine Rotation Unit in Darwin, and our Naval Submariners in Garden Island.  We were able to deliver 145 plus Christmas care packages filled with holiday cheer and snacks in December 2020
